FMC and Evo at Cira Centre South Map detail

Cira Centre South

Location: 2930 Chestnut St, University of Pennsylvania

Phase: In Construction

Planning Strategy:

A vibrant mix of uses on the former US Post Office Annex site is essential. Given that the site has prominence as a gateway to University City, a link to Center City, and is bordered by some of the most heavily trafficked routes in Philadelphia, the highest architectural, urban design, and planning standards should be used in development.

Program:
The 49-story, 730-foot tall FMC Tower at 30th and Walnut Streets will include panoramic views of the Schuylkill River, Center City and nearby green spaces such as Schuylkill Banks Park and Penn Park. Its 861,000 square feet of rentable space will feature 622,000 square feet of office space, 268 luxury apartments and executive suites and 10,000 square feet of retail space.

Cira Green, a one-acre elevated urban park, will serve as a gathering space and cultural venue on the roof of adjacent Cira South parking garage.

The Cira Chestnut Tower (30th and Chestnut Streets), to be known as evo at Cira Centre South, will offer an 850-bed, upscale housing option designed for graduate and professional students. The building, a joint project of Brandywine Realty Trust, Campus Crest, and Harrison Street Real Estate Capital, is scheduled to open in Fall 2014. The tower, designed by architect Erdy McHenry in consultation with Cira master plan architect Cesar Pelli, is expected to achieve LEED Gold certification.
